These are probably the most challenging students in a regular classroom. Regular class teaching is geared toward teaching auditory and visual learners, but you can use a few ideas that will help you teach kinesthetic learners as well.
Kinesthetic learners learn by doing. They are often the students that are most disruptive in the class because they need to be active to learn. You can help a kinesthetic learner by following a few simple ideas. It is often helpful to show students what type of learner they are so that they can recognize their learning style and adapt to learning with that style. For older students, have them determine their learning style, and then direct them to write a report on how they learn best. There is a test online at

As a teacher, if you do not wish to test students individually, you can watch them and determine which learning style each student is by using ideas which details actions from people with specific learning styles. http://www.educ.uvic.ca/epls/faculty/rowles/301.htm.
Kinesthetic learners have specific things they can do to learn better. http://homeworktips.about.com/od/homeworkhelp/a/lear ningstyle.htm They should use memory games, flash cards, and study with groups in the classroom. They can also learn best by role playing.
While teaching vocabulary and spelling, kinesthetic learners will do best if they are actively involved. Have them stand and form the letters with their bodies. Show them how to form an A by holding out their arms with arms held slightly away from the body and fingers pointed toward the floor. They can stand while you give the spelling of the word and act out the spelling. Tell the class that you want to see which student can do this with the greatest seriousness without playing around. Those who are kinesthetic will want to do it, and they can even come to the front of the class while you spell words each time. This will help them and the other kinesthetic learners to learn the spelling of words. You can also have them act out the concept so they will remember the definition of important words.
Kinesthetic learners want to be active learners. They are often the ones who are the most active players of sports and enjoy physical education the most. They are usually involved in anything physical that is happening inside or outside
