No. I must agree with one of our fellow writers; If a couple is willing and capable of having sex on the TV, more power to them. That opening was too good to allow that joke to go by unappreciated.
There is an unnecessary controversy here since if you don't like it you can and should TURN IT OFF. Different tastes in entertainment reflects the myriad ideals human beings all over the world have. There are people that feel that television itself is a temptation for evil thoughts- sorry I don't mean to imply that thoughts of sex are evil in and of themselves. There is a a very good reason *OTHER* than the fact that you can simply turn it off at will, however.
Graphic depiction of sexual intercourse should not be the first target we aim at if we - by we I do mean everyone interested in this topic - decide to work at getting explicit sexuality removed from television. The first target should be violence, which is not only acceptable but *glorified*! A thought more perverse than two characters having sex is that we allow ourselves to consider a 'hero' to be a person that kills those dealing drugs and tortures other people to learn the location of the bad guy.
More dangerous than sex OR violence is the thought that we should 'censor' (ban) anything that is offensive to any group. I assure you if the picture showed the old atari video game 'PONG' being played, there would be some maniac (no offense to any maniacs out there) out there who found the up and down motion of the *paddles* to be offensive. While you're at it don't forget you try to *score* by getting the *ball* past the *stick* into the *opening*. If you find yourself unable to cope with the suggestive overtones of PONG here, I truly hope you enjoy sleeping, because that's probably the only time you aren't offended. Truly, though, the danger of a radical group blocking any information they find offensive from *EVERYONE* is not the way to go. I'm all for guiding people to be good and selfless in their lives, but you'll never accomplish it by force. I'm thankful for that, myself.
Seriously, if you don't like the radio host or the 'suggestive themes' on television, just change the channel. Turn it off.
Try to make the world a BETTER place instead of trying to close out everything that could hurt you. The only way to create absolute safety is to show everyone that it's better to be selfless instead of selfish. Be good.
