Cruising is a great vacation value, offering you more choices, more destination and more things to do for a wide range of ages and interest then any other type of vacation. If you have never cruised before, now is a great time to try it. The prices have been reduced in some cases making it almost cheaper to sail then stay home. When you combine the low prices with the new ships and all they have to offer there is no better value out there.
Let's first start with pricing. Ok, if you want to travel during the busy time of year, for example during winter break from school and summer vacations you will pay a bit more but still compared to other land based options a cruise still comes out ahead. If you travel during the first couple of weeks in December for example, you can expect to pay as little as $240.00 per person for a family of 4 for 7 nights. When you add in your taxes and fees you can expect to pay as little as $1800.00 for the whole family. That breaks down to only about $65.00 per person per day and includes all of the items below:
1: Accommodations
2: Meals, including 24-hour room service, dinning room meals, snacks, buffets and much
more. There is a charge if you want to eat at one of the specialty restaurants, but these are optional.
3: Activities onboard. Shows, nightclubs, parties, use of gym, pools, hot tubs, library.
4: Kids camp, supervised activities for kids.
5: Coffee, tea, iced tea, juices with meals.
6: The ability to visit more then one destination without having to pack and up pack.
Not only will you save money taking a cruise vacation but hassle too. How many times have you traveled to a resort and had to decide, where should we go to dinner and what should we do today only to have one person want one thing and someone else want an other? What about eating out, pulling out the money for every meal and maybe not being able to order whatever you want on the menu due to price?
Cruise ships are known for their fine service, which generally exceeds what you would receive at a land based resort. Although the price you could be paying may compare to an inexpensive budget motel, you can be sure that the service onboard is first class and can rate up there with the top resorts in the world. Remember too, room service is just a phone call away. Coffee first thing in the morning, no problem, just call room service. Extra towels for the pool, again no problem, just get pick them up from the towel check out area. Pretty much whatever you need there is someone available to provide it.
Out by the pool and would like a cool drink, you will not have long to wait, there is someone coming by with cold drinks all day long. Some lines even come by while you are at the pool with ice towels and a cool mister to cool you off.
If you were to just add up one days worth of what you get, the price you would pay for any other type vacation is much higher. One other aspect of cruising that many people forget about is inclement weather. If there is bad weather, there is so much to do onboard a ship compared to a land vacation where you could be stuck inside your hotel room bored and cranky. If the bad weather is severe the ship has the flexibility to alter their stops, maybe they may skip one and stay longer at another or replace one of the stops.
All in all, when you add in the value, the level of enjoyment, fine service and the variety of activities for all ages cruising is a perfect choice!
