BAMBOO- Is a plant which needs water alone and low-light to grow. These plants can be bought by the piece and placed in a glass vase or cup, and filled with rocks to steady the plant, then filled with about 2 inches of water. According to ancient tradition the bamboo plant is suppose to be a plant of luck. In China the plant represents longevity; in India bamboo symbolizes friendship.
CACTUS-Catci come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be a fun decorative plant for the home. They require little water, but are best grown in their own cactus soil. Cacti can be spikey and flowering, but are always unique.
RUBBER PLANT-Or Crassulaceae, is another succulent type plant which requires little care to keep the plant bright and healthy. These plants range in all types of sizes and have soft, rubbery feeling leaves with hard stems. Rubber plants like cactus and aloe plants store water in their fleshy leaves.
ZEBRA PLANT-A zebra plant requires sunlight, but not direct sunlight. It also does not need regular watering, but a good watering ever once in a while. When in bloom it has bright yellow flowers that are small and beautiful.
AMARYLLIS-Plant a bulb once a year at the end of October/early November. These large red and pink flowers will grow in a medium pot of regular soil and are a great alternative to a Christmas poinsetta. Cut back dead flower heads as plant blooms and this plant will help take you into the spring season. Water plant when it appears dry, and place near window.
