The benefits of being single

I have been married, lived with men and lived as a single person. Having worked as a private relationship expert and life coach, I have also advised and listened to lots of men and women about their lifestyles.

Some people are very independent and capable, both financially and emotionally, and need lots of time on their own. They do not need marriage at all and would probably wither and die if they tried to live as a married person. Some are very needy and cannot manage without a spouse, though really they are being unfair and using them. It is possible to be in a totally committed serious relationship without being married or living together, if both are capable and independent.

There are lots of advantages to being single and the more capable and independent you are the more you are popular with the opposite sex. If you are needy , clingy and demanding you are boring. You are just taking from the other person and giving nothing in return. The most attractive people are confident, bubbly people. If you can cope happily with living alone you will get lots of opportunities to get married or live with someone and it will then be your choice whether you wish to or not. But you will not need to out of fear of being alone. So you will stay single or be picky and eventually end up with a terrific partner.

Single people have the whole bed to themselves and can stretch out, move about. Nobody there to snore and keep you awake with their noise, wake you up when they go to the toilet or start talking or wanting to have sex with you. Nobody to keep you awake with their body heat. You go to bed when it suits you and rise when it suits you.

You eat what you want when you want. You watch what you want when you want on tv. You listen to your favourite music, and not music you hate. You do not have to endure hours of sport or cookery programmes on the television. You can have quiet time whenever it suits you. Just reading a book for ages with no interruptions.

You are free to come and go as you please and see whoever you please without having to sneak about , tell lies or have arguments. You are free to talk on the phone to whoever you want without problems. You can have friends around whenever you wish, talking in private. You do not have to worry about someone sneakily looking at your diary or checking your mobile phone. It is none of their business and they do not have the opportunities. You are in charge of your finances so if you are responsible and capable you will find
