BEST WAYS FOR OLDER KIDS TO MAKE MONEY

Times are getting harder for all families. Therefore if the teenagers in any home can help out by earning that extra few dollars it will make life much easier on the whole household.

This will not only help financially, it will give the teenagers a sense of responsibility. It also gives them the chance to learn how they need to budget. And realise that clothes and electronic gadgets they took for granted that you would buy for them cost a lot of money.

Here are a few ideas for them to look out for:

Supermarkets

There are many supermarkets, Delicatessen's, Hungry Jacks, McDonald's stores all over the world than teenagers could apply for various positions.

Some may involve stacking shelves, serving customers, working on checkouts, even cleaning and cooking in some instances.

Often these positions can lead to advancement. Like supervisors, assistant managers in the McDonald type business. These will all give them a sense of achievement and teach them to be more responsible not only for themselves but to their other workers.

Odd Jobs - more suitable for boys

Lawn mowing and raking up leaves for the neighbours. Car washing, cleaning windows, letterbox drops and delivering various pamphlets for businesses.

Newspaper or Milk rounds

Milk rounds are not so common these days although there are still a few around. Newspapers still have to be delivered. This not only helps out with pocket money they also get more time exercising out in the fresh air riding their bikes.

Babysitting and house cleaning

Babysitting is a great way for the sensible teenager to earn money. Although it would be advisable for them to have had previous experience handling with their own younger brothers and sisters first. Simply because some children can be very hard to handle as they have not learned right from wrong.

The older teenager could even make quite a few dollars cleaning homes for their friends and neighbours.

Washing dishes

Yes I know, this would not be the most enjoyable way of earning money.

Fruit or flower piking

This is a job that can be backbreaking and yet, pay more. Because it depends on how hard you work. The quicker you work the more you earn, so its not a job for time wasters, because you would not earn much.

Hairdressers

No you will not be cutting hairs as such. Often in the busy hair salons they could do with someone to help make cups of coffee and sweep the floors. Especially when they do not have the apprentices to do that type of job.

Kennel workers

Vetenarian or Boarding Kennels often need help looking after the animals and cleaning after them.

This could lead to offers of a better position. Its surprising how many people find advancement in this way. Simple by being polite, conscientious and courteous, someone will notice your good work and offer you something better.

Whatever job you decide to do in your life, always do your best. I am sure you will find all types of rewards and achievements from that.
