When looking for a mattress, tell yourself what kind of things are most important for you. Is it durability? Motion separation? Name brand? Or is it support? Each company has strengths and weaknesses of their own, and depending on whats on your priority level and budget, you can make that kind of decision.
By far Tempurpedics are the best highest satisfaction rated company in the bedding industry. Even look on consumer reports, 92% of tempurpedic owners are highly satisfied. They are number one in every category. The only problem for a few individuals is, it feels different from traditional innerspring mattresses. Eitherway, they are the best.
Now you are paying a premium for those beds because they work. If you are on a tighter budget, I would suggest Sealy, Simmons, Stearns n Foster. All 3 are very durable.
If you are more focused on a supportive mattress, I would suggest getting a Sealy. They double heat tempur their steel and they are not only supportive but very durable as well because they use every coil on the mattress. Since all the coils are laced together you will feel motion but if you are sleeping well, there might not be a problem with feeling your partner.
Simmons is known for their motion separation, you do not feel your partner getting in and out of the bed. Their support is decent also but not as supportive as sealy due to only using a few coils when actually laying down on the bed.
Steans N Foster is a mix between the 2, Sealys durability + Simmons motion separation. SnF has the individually wrapped coils which reduce motion separation but they also double heat tempur their steel to make it more durable. Not only that, they are sealy's luxury line only being made by the top 20% of sealy workers in a factory.
As far as what kind of feel is important. My recommendation are...
200lbs+ Backsleepers | Firm / Tempurpedic
100lbs+ Backsleepers | Plush / Tempurpedic
100lbs Less Backsleepers | Pillowtop / Tempurpedic
250lbs+ Sidesleepers | Firm / Tempurpedic
Up to 200lbs Sidesleepers | Plush / Tempurpedic
Up to 150 lbs Sidesleepers | Pillowtop / Tempurpedic
I would highly recommend purchasing from The Mattress Firm. www.mattressfirm.com They are rated one of the highest on consumer reports and have exceptional customer service as well as a huge collection of mattresses.
The delivery is also same day delivery which is crazy.
There is even a free delivery code if you buy online which is 001DEL-JLN
If you are on a tight budget, I would recommend Costco but they are usually lower end beds.
