You open your eyes.
they're greeted by a bright blue sky
and glorious rolling clouds.
Looking upward,
your eyes focus on the leaves
of a gentle pine tree.
A soft breeze begins to blow,
and you feel it
press against your skin,
through your hair,
soothing to the touch.
The hill upon which you sit
is spotted with beautiful dandelions,
which tower above
the feathery green grass.
with eyes closing again
you hear the sound of bombs
going off in the distance.
your last thought;
why?
