In the eyes of a child full of dreams so bright
An imaginary prince appears every night
A little girls face like a doll's draped in curls
She dances with him in her make believe world
She dreams of a knight so mighty and bold
A vision she sees that strongly takes hold
A passion for him very early is formed
The idea of him makes her glowing heart warm
As she continues to grow she secretly yearns
But he doesn't exist in the real world she learns
Her prince is a vision real men can't compare
To the mythical man lost in dreams somewhere
The intensity of love and union they shared
She cannot explain as she wouldn't dare
In truth her prince was only a dream
So much better than real men it seemed
In a little girl's mind her prince was true
But he faded away each year as she grew
Each new year his image withered away
A distancing vision in the new light of day
Lo at night when her eyes would close
Together they were as the pale moon rose
No man she met compared to her prince
She never gave up always dropping small hints
The little girl aged into a sad older woman
Alone without her prince ever showing
She rocks in her chair with a face full of wrinkles
Gone are the days when her eyes once twinkled
She searched for Prince Charming all of her life
Why didn't he come and make her is wife?
She kissed many frogs believing in magic
But losing the dream was so much more tragic

Mothers tell their daughters,
choose a stable lad who's giving.
He may not be Prince Charming,
but he'll make a decent living

To a place where magic was born

Every little girl wishes
For a fairy tale scene

And the man of their dreams
Her knight riding

On a rainy April night
You took me by the hand
You held me close to you
Everything felt so right
On a cold January day
You sat
He never speaks,
only kisses the princess
and whisks her away.
Prince Charming
charms in his silence.
Painted on smile, like
