Poetry: Prayers for love

by John G Evans

Created on: October 01, 2009   Last Updated: December 02, 2009

A pure devotion

an eternal longing

a deeper reality

as I empty myself in love,

a reminiscent soul

of mystical pond -

illuminates the mystery

of such heavenly dew -

years pass and

still, the mystery of love

fills my soul,

to hear His word

in quiet

an intuitive calm

allow me not

to fall to myself, rather

to an awakening

of the deep things of You, O Lord

as I pray to You, because

self denial is sacred love

and that faith

that begins with fear

inevitably will end

nearer the Father.
