Fun things to do with your kids in the fall

Once it is time for the cool, crisp, fall temperature to hit the kids would rather stay inside in front of the games. As we all know most kids are joined at the hip with all the newer technology coming out for them to do. Though sitting there instead of doing activities outside is not very healthy for them. I personally love this time of the year. Kids will get a lot of enjoyment out of fall activities, you just have to show them what to do. You can look everywhere, there are hayrides, mazes, apple picking, and much, much more.

One of my favorite activities to do is pumpkin carving. It does not just have to be for Halloween. For the smaller children that you do not want them to have a knife just give them a marker and let them go to town. They will love just to draw on them. You could also glue some eyeballs on it or even glue some leaves. Just go to you local arts and crafts store and just buy whatever looks like fun to put on the pumpkin. Have the kids give him a hat. Frosty the Snowman has a hat. Kids will just love it.

Another idea to get your little ones up and active is to have a wheelbarrow dump, as I call it. Rake up all the leaves you can find. Once you have made a pile you can throw your kid in the wheelbarrow and run them down the yard and dump them out into the pile of leaves. If you have bigger kids that will not fit make them be the pushers.

Another idea you could do with the leaves is rake them up and make pumpkins out of them. Around this time of year the stores sell orange garbage bags you can shove them in. Have the kids fill up the most bags and they win. Let them set the garbage bags all over the yard.

I do not know how well the bigger kids would like to but, take them to an apple orchard. They will love to pick their own apples. People have hay mazes built just about anywhere in the country. I, myself still like going through the mazes with the kids. If all else fails just try to get them to help you bake some cookies. You can cut out the cookies into all kinds of things and decorate them. Let them take the cookies to a bake sale they have created and designed on their own. They will be so proud of themselves.

There are so many great ways to get your kids out of the house or just to get them doing something productive with their self. Just remind them that before long they will not be able to go outside because it will be just to cold.
