That which humanity thinks of as "time," is one-half of a time-space continuum, designed by the [co]Creator[s] (that many just call "God").The intention of the Architect of the Universe, in this design, was to communicate, to the free-willed creation, divine mercy, long-suffering, patience, and love.
The "Sleeping Prophet," Edgar Cayce, channeled the following in one of his readings, #938-1:
6. Then, as there has been and is the passage of a soul through time and space, through this and that experience, it has been and is for the purpose of giving more and more opportunities to express that which justifies man in his relationships one with another; in mercy, love, patience, long-suffering, brotherly love.
From another reading, #1066-1:
9. Upon that called time and space, or the film of life as given by the Creative Forces in their expression for companionship, for glory; that the entities so manifesting themselves in that which is matter in the earth, that is force and power in the mental sphere, that is the glory of the Creator in the spiritual realms, may become aware that they are as one in this earthly experience.
This blessing, inherent in the illusion of "time" and "space," is designed both for our good pleasure as well as to serve for us as an example. As an ideal, of what we would desire to be: transfigured after Christ, formed in the fashion and likeness of both God and man, in order to experience everything from abject sorrow to transcendental bliss, and to learn what love is and what love is not.
This is the missing link for those skeptical of the free-will/universal salvation decree coming from the same issuer of much evil toward the wicked, according to the Holy Bible. This is how free will is unconditional and guaranteed; in a system that is both magnanimous and flawlessly just.
"Time" is of little concern to GOD, who lives outside that continuum. Indeed, that continuum dwells wholly within GOD, as time-space.
It is our destiny, as souls, to return to that from which we came: our Creator. The interaction of fate (circumstances outside of self) and free will results in destiny. The "fabric" of time-space is the canvas within which these workings take place. Each soul's activities are painted upon this canvas, and it is from this that the tangible world is formed.
