Don't fall in love with a vampire, they'll always want your blood. Forbidden love is taken to a new level in "Twilight," the story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. The film is visually vibrant and about 98% true to the popular book of the same name, so if you've read the book, you will not encounter any major surprises in the film.
Bella moves to the small, northwestern town of Forks where she will spend some time with her father and attend a new school. During her first day of school, she discovers a mysterious group of pale-faced teenagers that go by the last name Cullen. The name Cullen starts looking and sounding more and more like coven as the story unfolds. We find out that the Cullens are a family of vampires.
These vampires are not the evil kind that we are all used to, though. These vampires are what Edward describes as "vegetarian" vampires. They only feast on animals, choosing to spare human life and live among them instead. Edward describes his "thirst" for Bella to be stronger than anything he has ever felt in his undead life. He tells her she is like his own private brand of heroine that he must resist at all costs.
Edward repeatedly tells Bella that if she knew what was good for her, she would stay away from him. She is a lovely, delicate flower that he could destroy in a heartbeat if he isn't careful. Fate seems to keep pushing them together, however, and their passion for one another grows, as do the obvious problems that can result from such a relationship.
Just as Edward and Bella are becoming a real item and are publicly displaying their relationship for all the gossiping school to see, some unwelcome, evil vampires hit the scene. These vampires are the kind we are used to seeing in other films. They like to kill for sport and terrorize humans. They don't settle for tofu when they can have the whole turkey.
The most evil of the bunch is a vampire named James, and he gets a whiff of Bella during an encounter in the woods. It turns out James is a tracker and once a tracker has the scent in their nose and the prey in their mind, they don't stop until they kill their victim. So, the chase begins. Bella is whisked away to safety by Edward and the other Cullens.
James stays true to tracker form and chases across multiple states to find sweet miss Swan. This chase results in a climactic battle of vampires and a thrilling conclusion to what makes for a unique story, the likes of which has never really graced the silver screen.
