The darkness of the parking garage was overwhelmingly dark,
only a sharp sliver of light emerging from the outside lights.
Danielle peered into the darkness to find her car,
no more than twenty yards in front.
She began her walk, slow and steady,
making sure there was nothing waiting in the darkness to reach out at her.
A sudden noise arose from her left, and she briefly paused and took in a deep breath.
She felt eyes gazing upon her, watching her every move.
Her slow walk turned into a hurried pace,
and once again the sound grew a bit louder,
though this time from her right side.
Daniell felt her heart beat steady in her chest, and continued to her car.
Only a few feet away now, a groan came out of the darkness,
and without hesitate Daniell reached out and opened her car.
Once inside, she secured all four doors and immediately started up the car.
She took a deep breath of relief, for she had made it through the darkness.
Turning her high beams on and putting the car into reverse, she looked into the rear view mirror.
Suddenly two green eyes appeared in the mirror, and a dark figure rose from the back seat.
Before she heard herself scream, the darkness enveloped her.
