There are many reasons in todays society why women postpone having babies. Careers to some women play more of an important role in their life than getting married and starting a familily. The women of today are much more focused on careers and how much money they can make vs settling down and being bare foot and pregnant. Cleaning up after your husband and children isn't rewarding enough.

The days of eating together as a family are becomilng rare because of the fact that it takes two incomes to make ends meet. Moms are allowing daycares to raise their children and they only see their children a few hours a day before bed. The non-bonding between mother and child ishaving a negative affect on our children's behavior, test scores in school and also lowering their self esteem.

The women who want to wait to have children are probably the ones who are more focused on a career and are good planners. They want to wait to be finacially stable first.. Although, a career is only one reason why women wait to have children there are many other reasons why women wait, careers would be on the top of the list.

The second reason why many women find that finacially they just can't afford children and for personal reasons want to wait until the economy gets better. With the unemployment being so high women may feel that having a baby will be more of a stress than a pleasure.

The third reason why women may want to wait to have children is the simple fact, that more women want their freedom to go and do what they want when they want to do it. Women of today don't want to be tied down at a early age. They want to have their career, travel and be free.

There are many personal reasons why women want to wait to be a mother. There is nothing wrong with waiting, more and more women are having babies at a later age. One negative of waiting is that as you age, you get tired more easily and you don't have as much patience as you did, if you started at an earlier age.

Having a baby changes everything in a relationship. Being finacially stable is probably the most important thing women focus on when deciding on having a baby. Sometimes you can't plan, because it seems there is never a perfect time tostart a family.
