We all know the age old rules of hygiene in the workplace right? You wash your hands after the restroom, shower before coming in, wear appropriate underclothes and make sure there not showing, ect. Things of this nature have been pounded into our brains since we were old enough to wipe our own butts. Why then do these rules only seem to apply to the people behind the counter and not in front of it?
I feel like there should be rules for the customer as well, consider some of these next time you walk into a store.
Take a shower (and get those hands and fingernails really good)
Do people turn there noses up or run the other direction when you get close? Its because you smell! I understand there are times when you've been at work all day and maybe have a slight stench but if your. . .i don't know retired, unemployed, have the day off, then I know you've had time in your not so busy schedule to shower. I don't want to smell the 3 day old, Ive been sitting in my favorite chair, watching the tube, scratching my butt, stench on you and I assure you no one else does either. While your in that shower getting all soapy please pay special attention to your hands and fingernails. Its unhealthy to have all those germs hiding and having little germy babies, and I don't want to have to take your money after you've wiped a small city on it!
And while your at it brush your teeth
Not only with this assist you in looking nicer but it means I wont have to smell the 3 packs of cigarettes, you've probably just smoked, while your coughing your lung out onto my table. This is especially serious if you don't have dental insurance or the money to pay out of pocket to get your rotting teeth fixed. Its unreal the amount of people I see in a week that come in with one or two teeth left hanging by a thread from their inflamed gums, and then I have to sit across from them while their spitting and trying to maneuver words out of a flapping, gangrenous, skin flap that use to harbour beautiful teeth.
Maybe throw on some appropriate clothes
I'm not saying you have to come into my store in a suit and tie but please, pay attention to things like your age, size, and the fact that you didn't just come out of an MTV music video. Nothing will turn my stomach quicker than seeing an overweight person walk in and their shirt is 6 inches away from their pants with their cellulite ridden stomach falling through the gap. In todays fashion, designers are making things in bigger sizes, get them! There's also
