Poetry: Walking away

Fade Away

You left me stranded, you walked away
Leaving me alone, leaving me astray
I waited for you, I stayed here
From the moment you left, due to our fray

I was living a life I couldn't control
I was telling myself lies that couldn't be told
So is this how my life will unfold?
One where the devil will have my life sold?

You broke my heart, you left me shattered
Into pieces, you left me all tattered
It feels my pain never really mattered
Hence why you left me completely spattered

You show me your back, you turn away
As these distances arise, you fade away
So I stand here, feeling this way
Living a life filled with misery and pain
