Poetry: Wildlife

by Nanette Piotrowski

Oh, to be that squirrel in the tree just playing happily

The fawn in the dawn romping merrily

The dog chasing the frog through the bog

The hen in the pen sitting and knowing when

The porpoise having a purpose just catching fish

The cat in the hat just sitting by his dish

The dove in white just soaring in flight

A mouse in the house just looking for a handout

A bee that is free and needing a tree

Whimsay all, but oh to be
