Short stories: Mystery

We were traveling all the way to Saugatuck, Michigan ... where we would now live. I hated moving to a new house because my dad would always say " your fifteen now, I'm not going to let you just sit there and do nothing" so i always had to help with everything. Our old house was a terrible disaster so when we had to clean between the tinniest things, it would be like a health inspector looking for some old rotten smelly stuff with a difficult scientific name to it. It was a mess waiting to happen!

We used to live in Missouri, which to me was a totally boring place. It was better than anything though because to me it was home we had lived there for over 7 years and i just didn't want to get rid of it. Yet we did.

My four other siblings; Austin, Logan, Corey and Nathanial were all crammed in this tight space we call the back of our car because we had to bring our 109 flat screen television (which sat in the middle section of our car). It was the last load.

"When are we gonna e there," moaned Austin. He hated waiting in the car with nothing to do, because he lost his D.S.

"Soon ," my mom said like she knew it wasn't but hoped it would. My mom sat in the passenger seat, while my dad sat in the drivers seat.

"Its getting hot in here, can you roll down the windows," I whined. I was hot all the time just like my dad so he did.

"Polly stop complaining, be one with the universe," my dad replies to me. I was offended. Austin was the one that was complaining. They always blame me for something even if its nothing.

"Knock it off," my mom said hitting him playfully on the arm. She hated my dads phrases. They get very irritating to her. She hates " be one with the universe" and " patience always winds" and "just allow" the most. Sometimes they even irritate me.

It was quiet for a while.

"BOP!" my dad screamed. Everyone jumped, including my mom who punched my dad in return. He punched her back. Then she punched him.

"Woman common knock it off," my dad said out of his laughter. When its really quiet my dad screams something and everyone jumps, its his little joke.

I looked at the sunset. It was amazing! It's orange color glazing off of the yellow sphere."so romantic" i thought to myself.

Slowly my dad stopped the car in front of a stop sign. He got out and as the dirt that hovered in the air cause of the skit of the vehicle moved aside my dad saw a treacherous deep cliff. I blinked and he was gone. I got out of the car and took steps of about 7 and looked down to what I should not have seen.

My dad hanging from a branch shouted at me"POLLY WATCH OUT"

I felt a push and feeling the gravity pull me down stared speechless into what would become my grave.
