Women are known as the more social sex and so men have a more arduous task on their hands when it comes to discovering whether a woman is attracted to them or they just want a platonic relationship. So how do you distinguish whether the woman is only interested in a platonic relationship or something more?

* Eye contact.

Eye contact held for over five seconds or more when you're both not communicating together is abnormal between friends; however, this is not abnormal between those in a relationship. If she holds eye contact with you for long periods of time then this is a good sign that she is interested in you.

If you notice her across the room, and you think she was looking at you, or she started looking at you the same time you noticed her, if you hold eye contact for a few seconds and then she looks away and back then this is a sign she likes you. She more than likely looked away quickly because she didn't want to make you think she was starring or she became slightly nervous, it's normal for girls to all of a sudden become nervous when they see someone they like looking straight back into their eyes.

*Physical contact.

When women are interested in guys they tend to use physical contact with them. If she brushes past you on more than two occasions then it's a sign she may be interested in you, once or twice is understandable but any more than that and it could be that she wants to have physical contact with you, and get your attention.

Another sign to look out for is if she touches you a lot, most commonly women touch guy's arms or shoulders when they like them

*Accidental meetings.

She seems to find reasons to be with or near you. She may come up with what you think are stupid reasons to talk to you. Does she constantly want your views and opinions on things? And always cares for what you have to say? Does she always seem to be around you as much as she can? These are all signs she likes you and she wants to get to know you more.

*Preening.
When a woman is conscious that you are looking at her, she will make herself look good if she likes you, she will adjust her hair, make-up or clothing, just anything to make herself look even better so you can see her at her best. Preening isn't carried out consciously in fact when a woman plays with her hair its usually because she's anxious so she's taking her mind off this feeling, because she is nervous around you or she just simply wants to look good in front of you.
