Brian rolled out of bed after working a fifteen hour shift."Brian, where are you going?" asked his wife Renee. "I have to go to work." replied Brian. "Brian it is Sunday and you promised that we would go to worship service this morning." "You go Renee and pray that I will be able to purchase that "52"inch LCD television that I want." said Brian with a smirk. "Brian cut it out and stop disrespecting the Lord. We have a "52" inch television in every room except for the bathrooms." said Renee. "Tadah! that is where I want to put it." said Brian. "You have got to be kidding." said Renee.
Brian got dressed and hurried out to his car. When he walked out of his three story mansion he noticed that his neighbor had purchased a 2009 Mercedes Benz. Brian thought to himself it would really be nice to own one of those.
Brian arrived at his job in less than ten minutes. He stepped out of his shiny sports car and noticed what appeared to be a homeless family of five. "Sir" said the man. Brian kept on walking. The man ran in front of Brian. "Sir, please can you spare some change. My family and I have not eaten anything since yesterday and we are hungry." The man hung his head and walked away. As Brian went inside the empty building he murmured to himself, "I don't understand why there are so many beggars on the street? Why can't they just all get a job? Life would be so much better without them." Brian turned on the lights and the whole room lite up. "Who is in here?" yelled Brian. With his voice trembling. "Who is in here?" "It is Me Brian." said the voice. "Me who? and how do you know my name?" said Brian. "I'm the Lord of Host. The God of your fathers." Brian stood in the doorway with tears in his eyes. "No Lord, it can not be my time. There are too many things I have not done, so many things that I have not accomplished." said Brian. "Brian, what happened to you? Why have you sinned against me? Why do you covet temporal things? These thing will fade away, corrupt, people steal them, but if you focus your mind on eternal things your treasure will be stored up for you in Heaven. You have gained material wealth, but you have ignored your soul. What does it profit a man to gain all and lose his soul? This is for your own gain. There was a time you would serve me. There was a time that you
