Whether you are a person that buys a gift for every person you know for every event that you find out about or if you only go all out for holidays and birthdays a gift card can save you in a pinch. I like getting a few extra for the holiday seasons just because you never know if you might need another gift.

Gift cards save time. When you are crazy busy and you have a ton of chores to get ready for an event for someone or seasonal get togethers and you don't have any help gift cards are to the rescue. Put them in a nice card, or a pretty tin and you have a give that is guaranteed to please.

I have been stuck in the past with people bringing a new boyfriend/ girlfriend or a half sibling that you never see so you don't remember them while shopping and they have been left out of the gift giving completely. Now when I'm doing the holiday shopping I get a pack of cute holiday cards and slip in some lower amount gift cards and I keep them in my purse.

They are also great for the person who seems to have everything and they keep telling you they don't know what they want. Since you're not getting any help from their end a gift card is a great way to say I was still thinking about you and here's a gift that will allow you to get whatever you want.

Sometimes people need money more than they need a new sweater/ socks/ or something else that in some cases will just sit in the closet until you come over and they feel like they have to wear it at least once then donate it. They may need help with bills, or just a little extra money to get something to spoil themselves.

Gift cards save money! If you got a gift card for everyone on you holiday list there are web sites or stores that when you buy in bulk you get money off your gift cards. There are programs that when you sign up and buy gift cards from them you will get discounts coupons and sometimes extra gift cards. Especially in todays economy sometimes it can even be more practical than going out and spending hundreds of dollars when you're not even sure they will like what you give them.
