Reasons why I did not vote for Barack Obama

I didn't vote for Barack Obama in 2008. Let me explain my reasoning.

The presidential election of 2008 was my first chance to vote in a presidential election, needless to say, I was pretty excited. I'm sure there were many first time voters in 2008 who were excited with me, many voting for Barack Obama, many voting as I was for John McCain.

Barack Obama - I believe, but we are going to have to wait and see, aren't we - may have been the biggest mistake that this country has ever made. I hope and pray that is not the case, but again, we will have to wait and see.

To keep this simple, I will give you just two reasons why I didn't vote for Barack Obama, as well as two facts that had nothing to do with my personal choice in whom to vote for (although I know that they affected some people's choice).

I did not vote for Barack Obama because:

1. His stance on the issue of life. I am one hundred percent pro-life at all stages. Barack Obama is pretty much one hundred percent against life - except in it's "best" form, in people who are healthy and the "right" age. Barack Obama supports euthanasia along with abortion, for the elderly, the sick, the diseased.

2. His socialistic views. One of the greatest things this country stands for is freedom, I agree with that... as long as we are not harming anyone I believe in as much freedom as we can have. Barack Obama supports many things that go against freedom, such as forced health-care for all, etc..

The following have nothing to do with the fact that I didn't vote for Barack Obama:

1. His race. The fact that our country finally has an African American president is one thing that I was able to rejoice in when I found out that Barack Obama had won the election - it is about time that we start treating all humans equal.

2. His name. While some did not like Barack Obama because of his middle name (like he really got to choose it!), I was not going to judge him based on something so foolish. A name is a name, and (most) names are picked by the parent, not the one who has to live with them.

This country will be getting the change that everyone wanted - but I think some are going to be surprised at some of the changes that includes.
