WORDS ON A PAPER
I marvel at those who've created a poem,
With pen in hand they splash words on a paper,
Bringing thoughts that once scattered, cleverly home,
To reside in their pen marks as words on a paper.
So wonderful, I think, a mind free to drift;
While squiggles of ink become words on a paper.
It's amazing, it seems, and my spirits they lift,
As my scribbles are turning to words on a paper!
Perhaps I'll convince vast thoughts to behave;
To become brilliant words, here on this paper.
Suppose that will yield the result that I crave?
My beautiful poem: wise words on a paper.
So here I sit, write, edit, review;
Lost in my work putting words on this paper.
Then I'm taken aback, when I read them anew,
I've created a poem! Right here, on this paper!
