The randomness of luck is quite peculiar. A phenomenon that is determined by factors people can not always control. It is something that is tried and pressed while being life changing. I think it is a great equalizer. Whether one gambles or is just living life, they will be faced with the randomness of luck.
Luck is nothing more than chance. It has been studied, the subject of stories, and looked for with charms such as a four leaf clover or a rabbit's foot. A good example of luck's randomness is the lottery; millions play, but just a few win. People will try their luck many times to hit a jackpot that can make them financially secure for the rest of their lives. As a person goes through life's ups and downs, luck can be cited as a reason for the good times and sometimes revealed during the bad. When one is able to have everything he or she needs, they may feel lucky. When one is in need of life's necessities, he or she is lucky to live long enough to have time and resources to acquire them. What makes one rich and another poor can be related to family background and opportunities, all of which are a result of a person's luck.
The wild card in life that is luck, becomes a little tamer due to the power of opportunities. One can rise from poverty and become wealthy with education, helping hands, and creativity. With all of these ways to play with luck, it is still quite random. No one knows the secret behind the evolution of the miracle of life, which is where one's luck first begins. In a sea of sperm, millions of them are making their best effort to fertilize an egg. They are all unique, and the one that gets through will give life its chance. Some are lucky enough to have this process work, others are not. When fertilization is accomplished, even more luck is tried. Chances on physical and mental attributions along with health are tried and prayed for, with hope for the best of outcomes.
In the case of emotions, people try their luck at being happy. Happiness doesn't always come from financial security, but it is definitely a goal that is attempted and found through life's lessons. It is individually discovered, and a reason for the way in which many live their lives. Lives that were given by sheer luck.
I am lucky. I have all of life's necessities and a job. The randomness that allowed this to happen is beyond anything I can comprehend. Luck is something that is pressed with time. I hope for good fortune to last. Will it? Time will tell.
