Arbuckle Country is located in south central Oklahoma. It is home to The Arbuckle Mountains and the state's oldest state park. It is a dream location for family vacations and romantic get-aways. With something to offer everyone, Arbuckle County is a great option when vacationing in Oklahoma. Less then two hours from Will Rogers World Airport, it is not too far of a drive for those flying into OKlahoma City.

For the museum lovers, visit the Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum in Gene Autry. Housed in a former schoolhouse, this museum is devoted to sharing the life and career of Gene Autry. Take a few minutes to see all the toys, movie posters and records of this singing cowboy. You can also visit The Goddard Center which is a museum of visual arts. The exhibits change frequently, keeping the museum fresh and current.

If wine tasting is something you enjoy, pop in to Valley Vineyards and Winery in Pauls Valley. They offer tours as well as a chance to taste the many wines they produce. It can be a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

In Lindsey, you will find the Murray Lindsey Mansion Historical Site. Guided tours are offered of this mansion built in 1879. You can reserve the mansion for private parties, receptions and weddings.

Visit the Healdton. Not only can you visit the Healdton Oil Museum where you can learn about one of the largest oil booms in the state. You can also spend the day at the Healdton Lake or their pool. The lake is great for both boating and swimming. Pack a picnic and a enjoy a peaceful day. Go golfing at their golf course or walk through their downtown area.

Arbuckle Country is home to many hotels and bed and breakfasts. The Western Inn in Tishamingo is great for extended-stays. They offer kitchenettes in each of their rooms as well as many other amenities. The Shiloh Morning Inn is a lovely bed and breakfast in Ardmore. Its remote location is perfect for honeymoons and anyone wanting to get away from it all. Hidden Hills Hideaways is located in Foster. They offer different themed cottages for you to choose from.

Arbuckle Country is an excellent option for vacationers, no matter their interests. Families will enjoy all the possibilities for outdoor recreational activities and couples will enjoy the chance for romance. Although a bit off the beaten path, it is well worth the drive.
