Republication or Democrat: Which do you choose and why

You know, politics these days remind me of every time I go to Mexico. When you rise above the scary part, you end up in paradise where you'll be in the lap of luxury, so when it came to my vote in 2008, it was either hope or fear based hate. It was a moral issue for me, so there didn't seem to be any better choice to make but to vote for hope, although I knew that after that, I'd need to find some faith. Then again, when you're born and raised in The Lone Star State, among a bunch of Republican's you'd better at least pretend to lean to the right. Of course, you'll need to behave in ways that say, "I support whomever runs on the "right" and moral side." Otherwise, there will be a price to pay and some of your Republican friends and/or relatives just might even disown you if you have the audacity to vote for hope or disagree with anything those who look through a conservative view believe to be, "right," and true, even if the truth is rude and leads you to doom and gloom. Chances are Rush Limbaugh will be your guru.

Although it's safe to say that I'd remained, "on the fence," for most of my adult life, when it came to my political philosophy, it was wise to never discuss such stuff. Then again, Texan's often ride the fence. It's just what we do in the heat of the Texas sun, and riding the fence is how we keep all those pesky pests out of our property and business issues. If the holes get too big to patch up, we've always got a shot gun or two to remove those pests from our view. Besides, it was just easier to vote for the good old boy who knew what the good old boys who looked through a GOP view would want him to do, which I've come to understand stands for "Good Old Politician." Any good old guy from the GOP and the great state of Texas knew what every good old boy wanted him to do, and by the way, "he," should never be a, "she."

It worked out fine for most of my life until the campaign of 2008 and then, everything in my morally right conservative life had changed. There's that word again. I cringe every time I hear the word, "change." It just makes us Texan's enraged. It's a word that terrifies anyone born and raised in the same place they'll die. Believe me, there's nothing that can make a bunch of Texan right winged, conservative republican's go nuts faster than to discuss the need for change. "Don't fix what ain't broke," will be the political motto of every guy who represents the GOP side of our great state, which believe me is the majority.

It always
