I have used the product, Biofreeze for about 2 years. I was introduced to this product when I was under the care of a chiropractor for decompression of my lumbar spine. I have not used the spray. I opted to use the spreadable gel instead. The product comes as a spray, roll-on or gel. They come in various sizes, from a small 4 oz. to large containers that would be used in a clinical situation. The product has a cooling sensation, as well as a pain relieving effect, with a mild scent. It did help to relieve the minor aches of my muscles and joints. It will not help any major and/or chronic pain, in my experience.
The spray version would probably be best used on a larger area. It would also be easier for someone to use on an area difficult to reach by ones self, such as the back. The roll-on would be best used like the gel, just with a different consistency.
I have noticed that the product does not hold up well in heat. It loses its gel-like consistency and becomes watery and tends to slide off your skin. It would be better not left in a hot vehicle, or outside. Even though it is not a prescription strength product, you need to follow the instructions. Overuse could probably cause an adverse reaction.
It is relatively inexpensive, as over the counter pain relievers go. You can use your computer search engine to find the least expensive cost. As I said previously, I was introduced to this product at my chiropractor's office. Of course, there is a considerable mark-up in cost if you purchase it there. I have purchased Biofreeze from their official website. I also found other providers through a search engine. I found a site that sold the product for about three dollars less than the official website.
As with all otc (over the counter) pharmaceuticals, you should check with your doctor for any interactions with your prescription medicines.
All in all, I believe the addition of Biofreeze to your arsenal of pain relieving products would be beneficial. I have a variety of over the counter creams and gels, as well as those prescribed to me by my personal physician. With the ever increasing cost of pharmaceuticals, it is always a pleasant experience to find a cost effective product. I would recommend this product for easing the minor aches and pains of ones body.
