7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding..
Wisdom is the application of knowledge to determine the best course of action. It is the ability to judge correctly by gaining understanding so as to act in the best possible way. A wise man by his wisdom delivers a city, so the bible says. Wisdom is strength to those who have it, it is a defense, and the Excellency of wisdom is that it gives life to those who have it. It is no doubt a worthy cause to seek to gain wisdom, and truly any man that is termed wise gains the respect of all and sundry, his fame cuts across barriers seen and unseen, his words sink deeper than the surgeons needle, his children are the delight of all eyes, and wherever the soles of his feet touches, kings and emperors pay obeisance. In all your getting get wisdom!
Sadly though, wisdom is unknown to many, and many a man spend their lifetime groping in the distend darkness of folly and simpleton, crashing into unseen posts of unfortunate incidents and regrets, laboring and toiling to find some rest. Yet wisdom shouts loud in the streets, her voice is heard on the housetops, dousing the feeble noises of the hustle and bustle of our everyday world. Oh wisdom pleads, yells, screams, from everything around us, hoping that we would come, and find rest in her arms. From nature she beckons to us, and in nature the perfection of wisdom is displayed. In all your getting get wisdom!
Look around you, nature speaks wisdom loudly and clearly to those who care to hear. The sun shining in the sky, flowers growing in the fields, animals in the jungle, beautiful waterfalls, the green grass of the field, the trees of the forest, the variety of nature in different geographical regions, all these speak wisdom to a listening ear. Perhaps the first and most valuable wisdom of nature is her quiet power; her calm confidence, unshaken and unperturbed. It is the wisdom that teaches that wisdom itself could be gained from nature! You only have to look and behold the amazing repertoire of wisdom that sits in the machinery of nature, little wonder the psalmist exploded in blissful adoration in Psalms 8 and 19, extolling God for such marvelous works. From the sun we learn that there are things in life that we may not always understand. The sun gives us light, and through this light we see the sun itself and see everything else. It is a source of energy so potent as to sustain the planets that
