Soda is widely spread and consumed all around the world. However, many don't realize the effect that soda has on their health. Also truthfully put, many don't really seem to care about drinking soda. From unnecessary weight gain to bone weakening, soda has numerous impact on your overall health.
Tooth decay is an effect of drinking soda. The sugar in soda is responsible for this mess, but it isn't the only reason for tooth decay. The acids in soda can also dissolve your tooth enamel. This isn't good news, especially if you're the one who occasionally smiles. Following tooth decay are gum diseases like gingivitis, which causes bleeding of the gums.
Soda is also responsible for the weakening of the bones, a condition also known as osteoporosis. Soda robs the life out of your bones by promoting the loss of calcium. This means that you have a higher chance of suffering bone fractures. This isn't a good thing if you want to maintain proper health. Strong bones are a benefit to everyone, including the elderly and people who play sports that involves using force such as football, ufc fighting, etc.
In addition to the impact that soda has on your bones, soda is also contributed to obesity. Obesity is the condition in which your body fat percentage is above the normal level. Obesity is certainly not a joke, as it is the second main leading cause of death in the United States. Why? The reasons are many. Obesity is linked with heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and high blood pressure. Soda has a high calorie value, not to mention that most of the calories are sugar. This is absolutely unhealthy as sugar is more likely to be stored as fat rather than energy. Soda can also influence what type of food you eat. Proven factually, people who drink soda are more likely to choose fast food over healthy food, which is why you see many overweight people in America.
Today, many in America still advertise and consume soda, and are not aware of the dangers of consuming it. There are no benefits to consuming a substance which does indeed, kill you slowly over time if consumed daily. I wrote this not to tell you that you can't drink soda, but to use soda as less as possible. All in all, I'd advise you to try and stay away from consuming soda as often as possible. Proven true, anything that is consumed excessively will have consequences.
