The US should never make such a mistake. By placing missile defenses in Europe and having Russia against it, can't be a good decision. The real issue here is that neither of them want to give in, and this can lead to bigger problems, the top of them being a new cold war. Nobody knows what Russia has behind their walls, they keep their secrets shut tight and it doesn't seem that they're letting go.

Placing missile defenses in Europe seems to be something the US wants to do to show power over the rest of the world. A statement, if you will, that claims that they're still on top, they're the number one nation, the power is theirs to keep. This is not the case anymore, and the US need to realize that.

Sure, it may have been true to some extent, but nowadays nations are more and more powerful each day that passes, and underestimating one of the biggest in the world, is a terrible thing to be doing. Russia is a proud country, and a world power in their own right, and any opinion they have must not be taken lightly by anyone.

The US going against Russia and placing the defenses can lead to war. It is not the first time that the US makes a decision without taking in consideration most of the consequences of their actions. They always do things their way, and most of the times they get the worst of it.

The situation could come to a much more dangerous end, if the US goes through with this idea. Obviously most of the EU will support the US, as usual, and probably the US will have a few countries willing to have those missile defenses in their own territory, but with Russia being against it, a new issue arises: Russia may get support from other nations, namely China, which can be disastrous.

I don't want to give the idea that I'm a prophet of disaster, but we must take this into consideration. What if Russia and China unite? Everyone knows the history between the US, Russia and China, and things don't look good. Hopefully, the US will reconsider this absurd idea, and leave the missile defenses issue alone, and far from Europe and its people.

Surely nobody wishes for us to enter a new world war, but if things aren't dealt with properly, it may just happen.
