Reflections: Atheism

I have a sneaking suspicion that Madalyn Murray O'Hair's last words before she was murdered were "Lord help me Jesus". As the old saying goes, "You'll never find an atheist in a foxhole" ... meaning of course, we all turn to our creator when we find ourselves under the gun.

I have known a few atheists and several so called "Agnostics", who are simply atheists who are not quite out of the closet ... still afraid to outright denounce the creator. You either believe in God or you don't, there can be no middle ground on this. God is real, the hard evidence is all around us.

How can anyone take an HONEST look at the wonders of the universe and not believe in intelligent design? I don't believe you can. To think that dirt and rocks (which by the way, had to come from somewhere) can evolve into living, breathing organisms is a FAR greater stretch than believing in God.

You could take all the so called building blocks of life and put them in a bucket, and after millions of years you would still have a bucket full of building blocks. If you don't believe in a creator, then you must believe in magic, for inanimate objects don't come to life on their own.

And I have never met a happy atheist, there's something missing in their lives. I tend to believe it's the Holy Spirit, and I can understand their frustrations. When you realize the swiftness of life on earth, and don't believe in more to come, I guess that could be frustrating.

Also atheists tend to want more earthly things, and this leads to working yourself to an early grave. Not a good place for an atheist to be ... in the ground.

For the sake of argument, let's say I am wrong about God. God doesn't exist, and I was wrong all my life believing in him. What will happen to me when I die? Well, if God doesn't exist, then nothing will happen. Now on the other hand, what will happen to Mr. Atheist if he is wrong and God does exist? I would much rather be the wrong believer than the wrong non-believer!

But I am a believer, not because I'm afraid not to be, but because common sense leads me to it.

I have never heard a good explanation as to the origin of Life, other than God. How could a pile of bricks become a building without a masons hand? The answer is simple ... they couldn't.
