Facebook has been called the "My Space for adults". It has great utilities for finding old friends, college buddies, or even networking for jobs. However, I must admit that I scrounge the applications for fun games to play in my spare time. The one game that has me addicted is called, "Farm Town." Farm Town allows you to create your own farm, decorate it, plant different crops, plant flowers, and much more. It also works on a leveling system that means you have to earn points to gain these precious levels. Now, I will explain the easiest ways to attain points in Farm Town so you can join the "millionaire's club".

Plant items that can be harvested several times a day

The best way for a beginning to get some points is to plant items that can be harvested several times a day. Each time you plant a crop you receive points or "XP" experience. Every time you plow you receive experience points as well. For example, potatoes take a whole day for you to harvest. That means you can only get experience once. If you plant a crop like grapes that takes four hours; you can harvest that a few times and get triple the points.

Decorate with flowers

Another way for a beginning farmer to get points is to plant flowers. This may sound odd, but flowers give you one point. So, if you plant a nice border or field of flowers you are getting points for each flower that you plant. Try different flowers, multiple colors, and landscape your farm. Soon, you will see that the points are adding up from your beautiful blossoms.

Get some neighbors and expand that farm!

Once you've gotten through a few levels you will want to expand your farm so that you can have more plots to plow, reap, and plant. To expand your farm you will have to have a certain number of neighbors. Neighbors can be any of your friends playing Farm Town. Once your farm is expanded you can have double, triple, and quadruple the amount of plots so your points begin to rise quite fast once you have managed your first e

Landscape

After I expanded my farm as big as I could I began landscaping. This adds to the overall beauty and appeal of your farm but also gives you points. Adding hedges, ponds, farm houses, silos, windmills, and such all give you a certain amount of experience points. My advice to you is to check the decorations and see which ones you like that give you the most points. Choose those. I actually earned a whole level of points just by redecorating my farm and placing windmills and scarecrows all over the different areas.

Become Old-MacDonald and grab some animals!

The last and easiest way to earn points is by collecting animals. You can buy differing animals as you gain levels. These animals can range from a few points to hundreds of points depending on their rarity and how much coin they cost. Your animals can be fenced in or can be set to roam and guard your new farm. I have a nice group of chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and even a llama.

In conclusion, Farm Town is a very addictive and fun game to play. It is rather easy to earn points and levels once you figure out exactly what gains you the most points. Remember, you want animals, flowers, landscaping, expansions, and friends! Now, get on your overalls and start farming!
