What is the true meaning behind the word "Church"

Because I don't belong to any Christian denomination although I am a fierce believer in the Bible, God, the Son of God, etc; the question is always asked, 'So who do you fellowship with?'.

It is asked gently, but mockingly showing that I have no one who shares the beliefs that I have cultivated by a thorough and careful study of the Bible, to join in fellowship with.

I could reply that the Bible tells us 'not to fellowship with the unfruitful forces of darkness, but to rather expose them' (Ephesians 5:11) , which is what I attempt to do through my writings.

Why do I describe those who faithfully attend church on Sunday with Jesus as their Lord as the 'forces of darkness'? It is because they don't realise how little of their system of beliefs is from the Bible itself.

Within the pages of the Bible, I can't find mention of things like Christmas, tinsel, Xmas trees or cake, punch, egg-nog, midnight Mass, wrapping paper, paper hats, Christmas crackers, bows and decorations; Easter, rabbits, chocolates, Easter eggs, dawn services, Lent, Sunday, or promises to Christians, etc. in the Bible.

What I do find in the Bible is endurance, hardship, races, crowns, tribulation, promises to Israel, Moses, the Ten Commandments, covenants, saints, elect, priests, preaching, healings, miracles, martyrdom, warnings, truth, faithfulness, demons, darkness, enemies, Satan, adversity, etc.

Christian beliefs pale in comparison to the vigour, danger and force of the Bible. It is the elect Saints which is not a matter of predestination; but of those who choose, are chosen who will undergo the Tribulation and who will need every ounce of true fellowship and each other's support as they undergo the trials of God which are to thresh them to rid them of their chaff and to make them spiritually tried and tested and fit for the Kingdom of God.

The whole time before and during these troubled times, they will live in communes, sharing homes, accommodation, food, belongings, money, clothes, furniture, babysitting, cooking, cleaning, working, duties, jobs, equipment in effect, all that they have will be available for each and everyone who has need.

Thus they will assemble to strengthen one another, to offer help and support to each other, to see where and how they can offer assistance. They assemble to pray earnestly for the strength to do God's will just as the Son did in the Garden and for the power and insight to resist the devil's wiles and temptations.

As the body of the Messiah, working together, each bringing their own individual talents and strengths, they will rejoice in song and praise for God who answers their prayers and who communes and communicates with them. They will worship Him in His presence; in the company of and under the leadership of His Son.

This is the true meaning of the Biblical word 'church' and the reason for the assembling of God's people. For these are the fruits that prove they are of God; so I wait for them to fellowship with them.
