My Cat is Fat

Just skin and bones when she found us,
she was on her own and in distress.
She ate her fill and learned to play.
Her looks improved with every day.
But now well fed and feeling pat
she sits around. My cat is fat!

She sits with spine against a wall.
It keeps her up so she won't fall.
She tries to clean the parts that smell.
She knows the source, oh, all too well,
but can't quite see just where its at.
Its down there somewhere. My cat is fat!.

She shares the bathroom when I go.
Crawls under pants when dropped down low.
She paws at water in the sink.
(Running water is best to drink.)
And when I shower, its HER bath mat.
She claims it all. My cat is fat!

Sometimes at night I wake in bed,
Can't catch my breath! What's on my head?
Its her. She wants me on my feet.
Its time, she thinks, for her to eat.
And then she licks me. (Cats kiss like that.)
And I don't care that my cat is fat.
