The Sony PlayStation 3 does more than you think. Every time the PlayStation 3 pops up in a conversation, most of the time they either don't know what they're talking about, or they just don't say anything because they have no knowledge about what the PS3 actually can do.

So what can it do? Play games? Of course it can play games, but if the PlayStation 3 were limited to only such simple entertainment, why would it cost $300? Are they magical games? It's true that the games played on the PS3 use high definition Blu-Ray and have a high output of 1080p resolution, but what else can it do?

Everything you can think of entertainment wise. The Sony PlayStation 3 has limitless entertainment. Games? Check. Movies? Check. Online entertainment? Yep, Sony has got that covered too. And that's not all. The PS3 plays music, shows photos, and views all of your home videos and multimedia.

Let's start with the games, since that's the most basic element in entertainment. The PlayStation 3 uses Blu-Ray Disk to enhance the sound and picture quality of the games you play, as well as provide 50gb of data on each Blu-Ray Disk, when a standard DVD can only hold up to 12gb of data. Games on the PS3 are massively multiplayer, both online and with friends. You can also play by yourself if you feel you just want to be alone and enjoy your time. PlayStation Network Trophy's show your skill level and accomplishments in the games you play, and there are always add-ons, game trailers, and downloadable demos at the PlayStation Store.

Next let's check out the movies. As previously mentioned, the PlayStation 3 uses Blu-Ray technology. With Blu-Ray you can get hours of bonus movie material, such as special features, bloopers, and interviews. Also enjoy enhanced menus and get interesting facts and information as you watch your film. If you don't have any Blu-Ray Disks in the house, don't worry. The Blu-Ray player in the PlayStation 3 will play all of your DVDs and CDs. If you don't feel like popping in a disk, you can always enjoy home made videos saved to a USB device, which you can put onto your PS3 hard drive for later viewing. Or, go to the PlayStation Store and download movies, trailers, and other content online.

Multimedia is all part of the PlayStation 3 system. Whether it's photos, music, or homemade vids you made, the PS3 can do it all. You can even use your PS3 as your household music library. Just pop in a CD or hook up your USB device and rip it to the hard drive.

The PlayStation 3 excels at online entertainment. With built in Wi-Fi for Internet connection, you'll never need to worry about tangling, losing, and breaking cords. The PS3 also has a built in Internet Browser so you can pay bills, print an email with a wireless printer, get information, download your favorite stuff, or just surf around. Online gameplay is easily accessible with the PlayStation 3, and with the free PlayStation Network access, text message or video chat with friends all over the world. You can also play around with Home, a PlayStation Network virtual world.

In the end, the Sony PlayStation 3 is an outstanding piece of work, with loads to do and much to share. Great job Sony!
