Christian spirituality does not compare to the world's manufactured, vague and uncertain spirituality. Spirituality and religion alone do not make a Christian. First and foremost, a Christian is a follower of Christ. Not a follower of the sun or other objects or dead people. Christians live in the Spirit of Christ; Christ who defeated death. Before "religions" there were Christians; no denominations and no splinter groups. If you do not follow Christ, you were not a Christian. Claiming Christianity does not make you Christian. Christian means "follower of Christ."
When one believes in Him and His Word then one must also believe that the bible is "Living and dynamic". It is a logical sequence of faith and belief that you believe in the living Christ, you believe His Word is also alive and alive within you the believer. The Word is active from within through the Holy Spirit; the only power who is alive gives guidance and wisdom to a believer. The Holy Spirit is the only source of true spirituality. All other spirituality is manufactured and often subject to change at whim.
It is extremely easy for some to look at a bible as just a cover with printed text and not realize that the printed word within is breathed by God; not just a set of rules and stories told by God and Jesus through the prophets and apostles. Some in this world try to define spirituality as some inscrutable force in the universe that can be tapped at will and conform to the individual; this is simply another exercise of free will.
Nature is described as some separate being with a female gender operating independently of any other power and this man-made spirituality may revolve around this independent "force". Spirituality like religion can be created by anyone to serve any purpose to supplant God with self. Using God's word is using a power beyond human understanding. The Word is the basis, the foundation from which understanding flows powered by the Holy Spirit.
Christian spirituality means being Spirit-filled as we gain strength from the Lord, much more than we could ever produce on our own. We gain the wisdom and guidance far beyond the capacity and comprehension of man. The greater our humility in service to the Lord, the more sensitive we are to sin. Spirit-filled service requires a humbled heart. Just having that "humble" look does not relate to a humble heart. Your heart must be humble which is and absence of vanity and pride fullness. You are prostrating yourself to the Lord in His service.
