Anyone remember the weird Police Academy guy? The strange voice. The strange hair. This was also the last time I remember him. He has a very intriguing voice and a look to match. Yep it's Bobcat Goldthwait. He has been in the movie business for quite some time. Every once in a while I would see him pop up in something or recognize his voice in an animated feature. Little did I know he was also a director. Up to this point, he has directed mostly T.V. but is now transitioning to movies. If you do not think he has directed anything you have seen, you would be surprised. Just pop on over to IMDB and take a look. That being said, I have had a chance to watch his most recent work. The Goldthwait written and directed "World's Greatest Dad".

This movie is starring the ever fluctuating Robin Williams along with a secondary cast or relative unknowns, or at least unknowns to me. Before watching this movie, I think I remember seeing 1 maybe 2 commercials for this film, and after watching it, I can see why. Now this does not mean it is a poor film by any stretch, no no. This film was rather intriguing. Robin Williams was, in my opinion, quite good and the secondary cast all were able to play their parts as well as needed. No, this is just not a mainstream movie.

This is a story about a father, a son and their hypocritical world they live in. This is a story about a man who desperately just wants his son to be a part of his life and a son who wants nothing more than to watch and perform extreme sexual acts. Now the father catches his son doing said things on more than one occasion and just tries to understand why his son is the way he is and offers constant support regardless of his son's deviance. Eventually however, his son's deviance gets him nearly kicked out of school until his father, who teaches at said school, is able to convince the principal to give his son one more chance. This favour goes unnoticed by his son though.

One night the father, played by Robin Williams, convinces his son, played by Daryl Sabara, to come out for dinner with the ever promiscuous girlfriend, who also works at the school. During the night, the son pretends to get something under the table all the while, using his camera phone to take pictures of his fathers girlfriends underwear. The night ends and the son is dropped off at home. Lance Clayton, the father, leaves to take his girlfriend home and upon his return, finds his son has accidentally killed himself performing auto erotic asphyxiation.
