What is the purpose, motive and intent of humanity

Saying that humanity has a purpose, motive and intent implies that either we were put here on Earth by some unseen entity for specific reasons or we are united in our purposes, intents and motives. If you believe in a 'creator' then you may believe that we are here for some reason that is unknown to us. Now if that were true, is it possible that we were given our own intent, motive and purpose as a group? That really doesn't fit in with many religious beliefs. Even if there is a god, it is quite obvious that he did not put us all here on Earth with our own identical intentions. It is also quite obvious that we are not united in our intents, purposes and motives. Each individual is different. So the short answer to this question is that humanity has no intent, purpose or motive.

As far as purpose is concerned, you could say that humanity has a purpose, if your belief system fits that scenario. The very word purpose implies a reason for being. Humanity having a reason for existing fits into many belief systems, however, for the rest of us, it does not fit. Even if a person has a personal purpose in life, they do not have a preordained purpose. A person is not born with a purpose, they find that later in life. Of course, all of our individual purposes are different. At most we may share a very similar purpose with another. So with all of these different purposes floating around on this Earth, how can we nail down one and label it the purpose of humanity, if all of humanity does not share it?

Motive is a very unique thing. Every person is motivated by their own personal wants and desires. Even the most selfless person is serving their own motive on a daily basis. The motive may be to help others, but it is still their motive. If you were to say that humanity had a motive, you would have to pin down a single motive that each and every human being shares. That is impossible. Such a thing does not exist. Even the motivation to live is not shared by every human being on Earth. Intent is yet another thing that is unique to the individual. There is no intent that is shared by all of humanity. Some of us intend to feed as many hungry people as we can. Others intend to kill as many people as they have to in order to meet their goals in life.

There is not one single thing that can describe all of humanity on an emotional level. It is the balance of the entire race's emotions that really sum up humanity. Humanity is a constantly changing and shifting thing. Every time a child is born or a person dies, humanity changes. Humanity is the sum of all its parts and its parts are so diverse that humanity itself cannot be said to have one single intent, motive, purpose, reason, like, dislike, want or need.
