Located on North Carson Street, Hanifin's boasts itself as the largest and most elegant antique shop in Northern Nevada. Recently, they have opened a copper gallery, filled with all sorts of copper antiques. Filled with beautiful, wooden, antique furniture, beautiful framed artwork, and beautiful copper pots and other decorative items.

Found on West King Street, this gallery exhibits many different artists, with unique, creative styles. The artwork is beautiful, and certain to demand long stares. The landscapes and pet portraits are realistic, and make it obvious the artist's dedication to their work. With their very own jewelry craftswoman, Penny Waters, the gallery is certainly exceptional. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 AM to 4 PM. They house regular exhibitions, featuring fine art, sculptures, painted gourds, ceramics, and hand made jewelry.

The Great Basin Art Gallery has monthly featured artists. Located on South Curry Street, the gallery showcases realistic and impressionistic oil paintings of landscapes.

While in Carson City, there are many things one must be sure to do. Explore the different nature trails, see the governor's mansion, go skiing, visit the Nevada State Museum, or visit the Grimes Point hidden caves and archaeological site.

But make sure to enjoy some fine art during your visit. In between all of those nature hikes, and museum visits, take a trip to the nearest art museum or exhibit and experience some of the glorious culture that Carson City, Nevada has to offer.
