'Til Death Do Us
a light breakfast simmers down in my stomach
the kitchen is so tiny, as usual
we dance around each other: ships in harbor
I try to be smaller than I am, giving you space
you want all the space in the world from me
your anger boils quietly like old coffee on low
I can't change everything you want me to
other people have minds of their own, you see
or maybe you don't
regardless. I'm here, and not the leaving kind
I take our vows seriously, pain or not
time will see, or not see
