" Lord Help me" rang out from my lips as I realized I was in debt up to my eyeballs. "God help me" could be another useful phrase. No matter which phrase you use these are the best to obtain direction from God.

God knows our every thought, move, and intent. God is available at any given moment. We, humans, often think that we can just move on through the course of the day and leave him behind. In order to have full direction from God in our lives we need to have a relationship. We need a continual relationship with God. Not just when we get into so deep of water that we can't seem to keep our head above the water. A relationship with God is a good start.

What makes a good relationship with God? Time is the only way. Open honest communication through prayer indeed will allow the flow of directional help. To have a relationship means to listen, really listen, and speak from our hearts without blame, shame or judgement. We need to be honest with ourselves, as we ask for direction. We need to have integrity in our hearts and minds in order to ask for direction. We need to open up our hearts to allow the flow of God's direction and help. Then the most important aspect of the prayer is being quiet and still. Without listening with the ears of our hearts or being in the stillness of our mind we cannot hear.

My thought is this: The method that we pray to God for direction is to have an open channel to and from God everyday. After all the Bible stated that we should pray without ceasing. In this day and age of work, and stress that's hard to accomplish.

Then I will define the method of prayer for direction from God is these things: 1) Ask for help and guidance, 2)God or Lord help me, 3) Keep your mind and heart open, 4) Set aside time and a place for quiet, 5) Be in the stillness of your heart and mind, and 6) Listen with your heart, mind and soul. That is a perfect recipe for having and acquiring direction from God.

As you can see the method of prayer is not complicated. The response will be there waiting within your relationship to God. The question is: Will you be able to hear with integrity, without blame, shame or judgments? I hope that your answer is yes.
