"Pole dancing. It's not just for strippers anymore." This should be the new advertisement for pole dancing. Pole dancing got its unfavorable status from past familiar usage, yet those of us who ventured into the unknown naughty find it not only sensual but tough. It looks easy when watching an experienced pole dancer flow with their movements and connect with the pole.
I am currently in a pole dancing class. When I first signed up for it, I received plenty of gasps and negative responses. "No you didn't." "Why do you have to take that kind of class?" "You're crazy." Its stigma still holds with some older generations, but pole dancing has become the new exercising means for women of all ages. Pole dancing is the new Jazzercise, although some prefer to call it 'Pole Fitness' to distance it from its true name along with the damaging attitudes.
This method of dance is great to incorporate into your exercise regimen. You will build strength and increase flexibility while shedding weight. The first thing you need to do when taking a pole dance class is be open to the techniques putting aside the negative associations. It is an exercise of body and mind. How you see yourself, and how you should see yourself. Exercising your mind about your body is a great way to boost your confidence, which helps lose the inches and pounds. Pole dancing can also improve your sex life with your partner. You learn about your sensuality and how to connect with it. In turn, the sensual thinking with the physical workout boosts those endorphins to apply what you learned in the bedroom.
This brings me to another important thing when taking pole dancing is to have a good instructor who makes you along with the other participants feel comfortable. It is a must to understand everyone is there for pretty much the same reasons, curiosity, lose weight, and feel good, for you to get the full benefits of the class. Before trying any of the techniques, you must stretch your body and week after week you start feeling more flexibility and strength. Stretching and strengthening muscles throughout your body are essential components when learning to pole dance. Your abdomen, core, centers you with the rest of your body controlling movements. While you are preparing to perform some of the techniques, you want to get your mind involved too, so your sensuality can move your body in a free, flowing motion.
Pole dancing is an art. Art has many meanings or ideas attached to it, but as a fundamental understanding art appeals to the senses and emotions. Pole dancing has a deep connection with emotion, which you express through movement. "It incorporates gymnastic moves, with freestyle movement, ballet and modern dance in different dimensions which include static and moving positions on the pole and dancing free of the pole." When you first get on the pole stand and attempt a simple technique, you may find yourself without actually intending to, sliding down the pole. The 'simple technique' I am referring to is arms stretched up, stronger arm's hand above weaker one, on tippy toes and then lift your feet off the ground holding your body in the air using your stomach and arms. It is an art to be able to use your body's strength to hold you up, while at the same time being in touch with your sexuality. With pole dancing, your movements and expressions work with your body's strength, which create an art form triggering your emotions and the emotions you stir up in others.
