There are a lot of great places for singles to live in California. The climate, the location and the population are just a few of the reasons why singles are drawn to the sunshine state. Here are just a few of the hottest places to live in California for singles:
1.) Sacramento - Why the capital? Midtown is a great place to get connected to those around you. One of the greatest benefits to living in midtown is that there is a great young vibe to the city and the tone is laid back. There are a number of establishments within easy walking distance and it is really easy to get connected to people in your age group. The eclectic mix of downtown is shown in the number of businesses and the way that it is balanced with little mom and pop shops and art houses. One of the great mixers that occurs once a month is called second Saturday, which is basically a massive art walk where all the galleries open for shows. The rent for an apartment is pretty much the basic you can expect anywhere in California (anywhere from 800-1500 depending on the size and location).
2.) San Diego - This is a phenomenal place for singles to live. The beach is right there, and there are a lot of colleges in the area so it is open. There is an emphasis on healthy living, and this is reflected by the number of groups and organizations in the area. This is also a pretty laid back city where it is easy to get to know people, and neighbors stick together. The cost can be a bit prohibitive, but the pay scale is also a bit higher here. One of the biggest attractions for this city is that it is close to so many beautiful beaches.
3.) San Francisco - Cost is a big consideration with moving to San Francisco, but let me tell you never have never lived in a city catered more to singles. The target for most businesses in San Francisco is not families with children or older couples it is definitely to those who are don't have a lot of responsibilities. This city is a blast to visit with so many different fun things to see and explore. It really runs the gamut from the Ritz to pier 39. Throughout San Francisco, it is so much fun to mingle with such different types of people. The location is perfect in it is just a short drive to the mountains and the countryside (just in case you need to escape from city life for a bit).
