God as an alien, is it possible?
Alien has two connotations: a foreigner to a land or an extra-terrestrial being. So an alien is either not from our country or not from our planet. As for the term 'God', we can go with the familiar definition of God found in the Bible, or Google's: "the supernatural being conceived as the perfect and omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe."
In Nehemiah 9:6 we see a vivid description of God: "You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that are in them. You give life to everything..."
This passage was originally written in Hebrew. In Hebrew thought "heavens" refers to the sky and then to outer space. "Highest heavens" refers to the heavenly realms we associate with angels.
Genesis 1 explains exactly how God created all in six days, including the heavens and the earth.
So if God created everything then how can he be an alien. He made the earth and all its lands, so He is not a foreigner or an extra-terrestrial-it is all His to begin with. One could hardly create something then be an "alien" to it.
Well maybe God lied and he didn't really create everything. Then He is a liar and cannot be God. Psalm 31:5 " O LORD, the God of truth."
Any way you look at it, saying "God is an alien" is false. Either He isn't an alien or He isn't God.
So where does this concept come from and why are people even entertaining such an idea?
It actually does have some basis in fact, in a round about sort of way. The Bible even tells us about it. In Genesis 6 and Psalm 82 we learn about the disobedient Sons of God, also called gods (small "g" gods: they are powerful celestial beings but not equal to the Creator God, they were still created by Him). In Jude 6 and Revelation 12 we learn about their fate. It is ugly and final. They are mad and that anger is directed at God's creatures made in His image, mankind.
In Genesis 6 they came down to the earth. This qualifies as an alien-they did not create the earth and they were not meant to live on it-they were most definitely extra-terrestrial. They came to earth in disobedience and violated human kind.
This coming of god-like beings is noted in almost every culture. The Greeks are the most well-known to us with their pantheon of gods who all behaved in a distinctly ungod-like manner. They were capricious, lying, cheating, raping, bitter, envious creatures. And this is who the Greeks
