Is illegal immigration good for America

Illegal immigration is tantamount to placing your bed in the middle of a busy freeway (at rush hour) and hoping that no one runs you over. Illegal immigrant statistics are alarming. Terrorists can slip into the country, traffic accidents are increasing, our education system is overburdened by forcing teachers to learn a foreign language (isn't this an English-speaking country?), welfare costs are on the rise, and the introduction of third-world diseases is happening regularly.

US Illegal Aliens is a web site that has compiled a host of information on illegal immigration. One shocking statistic is that the federal prison population contains 25% illegal aliens. An alarming number of felonies, burglaries, and thefts are committed by some of these same illegal aliens.

Illegal aliens are taking manual labor jobs, such as carpeting, plumbing, and bricklaying, away from legal workers. Illegal aliens will work at a vastly reduced rate. Employers are also to blame for hiring illegal aliens. But the job-stealing doesn't stop with manual labor. Illegal immigrants have been found in the medical field, programmers, lawyers, teachers, accountants, and executives in high-level positions.

More of this country's technical jobs are being filled by foreigners, in some cases illegal immigrants. The employees pays a lower-than-average rate for these workers, which reduces the value of a paycheck. Paying lower rates hurts everyone.

Financially, illegal immigrants create a huge drain on the resources of this country. An illegal immigrant can obtain a false identity and gain partial welfare benefits after only 18 months. Children born to illegal immigrants are immediately entitled to social security and welfare benefits. Food stamps are given out to illegal immigrants, while those who are truly in need (legal residents) find it difficult to obtain food stamps and social security benefits.

Illegal immigrants bring in their own cultural beliefs and attempt to force those beliefs upon the general public. Their beliefs may include extremely negative attitudes and violence toward women and the lack of values and morals.

Statistics point to the fact that cities with large numbers of illegal immigrants have at least 40% more people living in poverty and involved with serious crime. Additionally, the unemployment rate in these cities is twice the national average. Gangs are common throughout the United States, but illegal immigrant gangs seem to be more violent than native gangs. Illegal immigrant gangs have violent initiation rites, often involving sex abuse and death.

Immigrants arriving legally should be welcomed into the United States. Legal immigrants can bring in training and knowledge that is useful for jobs and careers in this country.

Illegal immigrants should not be allowed in this country. No exceptions.
