Revolutions
to an old man that sits alone his kitchen and
the one-legged grave-digger
to the seven wild geese that mock me twice a day
to the petticoat prophet and the children of light
to a two am train wailing through a mass of fog and
to the trees
to home alone and lonely
to my bed and my dogs and a bottle of wine
in a hot bath on a summer night
to all who suffer (tout le monde)
to song and dance and sea-water
burning my eyes
to sleepless nights and
days spent on my back in the rain
to him and her and that one over there
to dusty shelves and tattered pages
to all my friends-
none forgotten, and
to the dreams of their children
to all things living and all things not and
everything in between or beyond
to sunlight and snow
to the safety of my home and
warm furry blankets
to the fire
to our temperamental mother ocean
to our over-protective father earth
who wants to keep us at home until
we are ready to spread our seed
to our tethered moon always watching
to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and
to infinite compassion and eternal peace
to the great thinkers
to death and the infinite mind
to hysterical laughter and bouts with insanity
to the only little girl that
ever brought me flowers and
shared my bed countless
forever nights
to another revolution with all of you

Poetry: A new year
The old man lay dying
on a frozen patch
of sidewalk.
Nary a soul gave him
a comforting glance
nor a helping hand.

All is lost in the new years eve haze
Resolutions made in haste
On the steps, beneath a ringing bell

A new year
We mood up
Like a new puppy
For a few weeks
Or so
Our trees grow
New leaves
Then we sit by

A new year
The first day a new day
The old year forever gone
Memories for some
File the good destroy the bad
Rejoice
