Predicting the winner of the 2008 U.S. presidential election

The 2008 Presidential Election will be Mayor Rudy (R-NY) vs. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) in the New York Subway Brawl for it all. Think of Rudy as the Yanks and Hillary as the Mets; Rudy has the money and Hillary has the disdain of the Moderates and the Conservatives.

Hillary will have to run to her base, liberals, to stave-off Veep Candidate John Edwards (D-NC) since he's running hard to the left and able to take shots at both Obama and Hillary for being Politicians supporting Iraq. There is no way Hillary or Obama is going to cut funding for the war. It would be un-American and, quite frankly, stupid.

Polls show Hillary is now the front-runner with Edwards gaining ground and Obama falling back in the pack. But, Hillary has the staff and, more importantly, she has the still shining star of the Democratic Party-President Bill Clinton. Edwards has the far-left fire bombers but not the seasoned political skill of Hillary and the amazing charisma of Bill Clinton. Even thought DNC Chair Howard Dean (D-VT) may hate Hillary, he's got to back her to try and win the White House.

Rudy is crusing through the polls now over Sen. John McCain and Mitt Romney has fallen down. The Electorate could barely elect a Catholic and certainly won't elect a Mormon. McCain, due to differences with Bush, is not seen as a team player and polls show they doubt he can beat Hillary as much as polls show they Doubt Hillary can win.

The Nomination is over in the next two months. Politics is moving like a speeding bullet since the Presidency is open to new comers and the Internet is buzzing more than bees on honey. And, Rudy and Hillary have the cash. McCain is literally broke with only $500,000 in the hole. It is expected that $1 billion will be spent on this election. Obama is too young, too soon.

How Rudy Can Lose: He'll have to stumble badly in the debates. If he picks a Veep with Iraq's albatross around their neck, it'll drag down his candidacy. Condi Rice is the perfect Veep. Romney is a loser. McCain is no 2nd place.

How Hillary Can Win: She has to somehow be able to stalemate Rudy in the Debates. Rudy is a vicious campaigner and has teflon. Hillary doesn't. Bill Clinton will have to campaign hard WITH Hillary. To stop the bleeding of her Iraqi War Vote, She would be smart to take Edwards as Veep. He has the charisma she lacks. He also young enough to accept Veep so he can become President.

As the picture shows, Rudy puts a lot of Blue States in play. Rudy has a rare shot to win NJ. He'll also be a player in NY. He won't win those two more than likely but he'll win Florida and it's all over. Just for a flawless victory, Rudy will pull Pennsylvania. With Hillary required to spend precious cash to win Blue States, Rudy can cash-in the South and the Heartland. Rudy appeals to women as much as Hillary.
