Poetry: Suicidal thoughts

by Author Name Withheld 131

Created on: September 23, 2009

Unrequited

she calls him, the tart!

sometimes all day long incessantly

to run away with her

just give up

leave it with you all

and tomorrow

a mad obsession and a love affair

offering peace and a final escape

from the wheel,

from time, and a

doomed and miserable existence

or one more day

her voice is cool

gentle deception

always he answers

to sweet talk her in

the silent secret night

but the temptation never gives way

to the deed

be it strength or cowardice

is of little note and ill-defined

on the other end of the line

she sighs sweetly

eternally patient.
