What wisdom can we gather from our natural surroundings? What did God put in front of us, in our environment, for us to learn?
In just six days, God created the Earth, and the sky. Each blade of grass, tree, flower, animal, star, and planet. Thoughtfully placed, meticulously assembled into our universe. Everything that surrounds us is nature. Created for a specific purpose. To insure our survival and prosperity, and be part our lives, in generations past, present, and future.
Everything we need to survive is provided for us through nature. A renewing resource which depends on us for stability. The food we need to nourish our bodies, the materials we need to cloth and shelter them.
Our very existence depends on nature, and it's delicate balance. Imagine the thought God put into creating our world, so we would be able to take care of ourselves, and our families, generation after generation. The love God felt as he added each piece to His creation, for our survival.
So many of us take our natural surroundings for granted. We don't appreciate what we have, or where it came from. If we take an element of nature away, such as water, all eyes look to the sky, praying to God for rain.
Crops and plants wither and die. Animals travel far away in search of water. Fires easily start, and destroy our surroundings, no water to fight back the flames. We are now powerless, dependent on nature to solve what we cannot.
Everything we have, we have because God gave it to us when He created the Earth and our natural surroundings. He created renewing resource that continues to give, and give century after century.
Let's stop to focus on some things that nature provides us. As well as some lessons that we can learn from it.
There are four seasons which we cycle through each year. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.
In winter, at least here on the East Coast, our surroundings turn gloomy. Trees appear dead and lifeless. Grass turns brown. No flowers can be seen, as they sleep down under the frozen ground.
This should teach us not to take our surroundings for granted, as it can be gone in only a matter of time. The snowflakes that fall from the sky. Each one a beautiful creation, unlike any other. Reminding us that each person on this Earth too, is a beautiful creation from God. Unlike any other.
When the snowflakes accumulate, working together, they create a breathtaking scene of snow covered trees and ground. When people work together, they too
